About us

Built to help you succeed in a broken system.

Brendan Johns has 25 years of senior HR leadership — including the platforms, processes, and decisions that determine who gets hired. Chris Duncan holds an MSc in Psychology with deep expertise in career transition. As senior career coaches and co-founders of DHM, they built DHM Digital Services because the recruitment industry has rarely worked in the job seeker’s favour.

Brendan Johns

Co-founder, DHM Digital Services

Brendan Johns spent 25 years as a Senior HR Leader — building and leading HR functions for global businesses across APAC, EMEA, the UK, and North America. As a Chief People Officer, he sat at the centre of hiring decisions at scale: selecting and implementing the platforms that screen candidates, training the people who make the calls, and understanding precisely how applications are scored, ranked, and filtered before a human ever reads them.

That experience gave him an uncomfortable insight. The recruitment industry is not designed with job seekers in mind. Processes are opaque, systems are unforgiving, and the knowledge that would genuinely help candidates navigate it all has always stayed on the other side of the table. Brendan has seen the impact of that — on confidence, on careers, on people who are more than qualified but invisible to the systems assessing them.

DHM Digital Services is his response to that. As a senior career coach, his goal is to give job seekers the insider knowledge, the tools, and the support to successfully navigate a system that was never built for them — until the industry catches up.

Chris Duncan

Co-founder & Methodology Lead, DHM Digital Services

Job seeking is one of the most psychologically demanding experiences a person can face — affecting identity, confidence, and sense of self in ways most career services never acknowledge. Chris Duncan holds an MSc in Psychology and has spent his career at the intersection of people and technology, including Big 4 consulting roles implementing and training Workday and other enterprise recruitment systems. He understands what is under the hood of the platforms that shape hiring decisions — and what that means for the people on the receiving end of them.

His expertise in change management and career transition adds further depth to that foundation. But it is his psychology-led approach that sits at the heart of everything DHM has built. Job seekers are not just navigating a broken system — they are doing it while managing the very real impact it has on their mental health and sense of self. Chris designed the DHM methodology to acknowledge that reality, and to build the genuine confidence job seekers need to represent themselves successfully — not just on paper, but in every interaction with a potential employer.

Why we built this

The recruitment industry is broken.

The traditional two-step approach to job searching — application plus interview — is no longer enough. Job seekers who rely on it will get an inbox full of auto-rejection emails.

"Every online application is scored and ranked by an Applicant Tracking System before a person sees it. Those systems are not built to find the right candidate — they are built to find the perfect CV."

A modern job search requires a three-pronged approach. DHM is built around all three.

01 — Pass the systems

CV & Digital Presence

ATS platforms score and rank your application before a recruiter ever sees it. A CV built for human readers will fail the machine filter. DHM builds CVs that work for both — technically optimised and humanly compelling.

02 — Access the hidden market

Job Search Strategy

Most roles are filled before they are widely advertised. A job search strategy that relies entirely on posted vacancies is a job search that misses the majority of opportunities. DHM helps you get to the right people before the competition does.

03 — Win the room

Interview Preparation

DHM interview prep goes far beyond rehearsing answers to general questions. Every brief is tailored to the individual — covering the company, the hiring manager, key stakeholders, their pain points, and how to position your experience as the specific solution they are looking for.

What makes us different

Expert support. Accessible price.

Career coaching at this level has always cost £300–500 per session. Most people in active job searches have written it off. DHM delivers the same depth of expertise as a structured digital service — without the hourly billing.

25 years of insider knowledge

Brendan has sat on the other side of the hiring process at scale — as a CPO, a hiring decision maker, an ATS implementer, and an interviewer of tens of thousands of candidates. DHM's advice comes from someone who built the systems and trained the people who use them.

Psychology-informed methodology

Chris's background in psychology and change management is embedded in every DHM service. The process is designed not just to produce better documents — but to ensure clients come out the other side genuinely confident in themselves.

Built for UK hiring

Most CV advice online — and most AI tools — are built for the US market. UK CVs have different conventions, different recruiter expectations, and different ATS configurations. DHM is built specifically for UK hiring standards, not adapted from US resume rules.
